A LITTLE MORE ABOUT US
Bavarian Mountain West aka Idaho BMW Riders was formed in 1974 to promote riding and BMW ownership. Time brings many changes, and we still have several long-time members whose history and experience give life and energy to the rest of us. We are planning an active year of breakfast rides, campouts and our annual Stanley Stomp that will mark 50 years of great Idaho camping.
Our goal is to promote:
- Improvement of Road Riding Skills
- Rider Safety and Situational Awareness
- Fun and Friendship
Please join us at one of our events to experience the friendship and joy that this group of riders and friends creates. We believe you will feel welcome and will come back for more. If you want additional information or have questions, contact us at info@idahobmwriders.com or fill out our 'contact us' form below.
MEET OUR OFFICERS

ALLAN MACLEAN, PRESIDENT

MIKE WOODY, VICE-PRESIDENT
JANET MACLEAN, TREASURER
I have been riding BMW motorcycles for over 38 years, several of those years as a family of seven plus our dog on four bikes pulling a couple of trailers.
I recently rejoined the BMW Riders of Idaho along with my husband and was welcomed back by a wonderful group of members.
We have a great Club President, and I look forward to assisting him realize his vision for the Club’s future.

MICHAEL FAISON, SECRETARY
Michael Faison is a retired arts administrator and avid motorcyclist in Boise, Idaho. He started
riding in 1980, on a Yamaha XS750F and SR500F. For years, he aspired to a BMW, leading to his
1988 K100LT.
Today, in happy retirement and with more time for motorcycling, he rides a 2012 F800R for nimble touring, a 2018 Zero S for urban zipping, and a gorgeous, red, 1981 Moto Morini 500, just because.
BOB COONAN, EDITOR
I’ve been a Club member since 2012 and pleased to say that most of the members at our 2024 Annual Meeting were the same as in 2012. We are more than a BMW Motorcycle Club; we are a Club of good friends. I am working to help this Club become more active and welcoming to other BMW riders. I currently ride a 2010 R1200GS.
If you enjoy riding, please join us at our monthly get-togethers, our campouts and our 50th Stanley Stomp. You are always welcome.
